Article L1852-7 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

In the event of operational difficulties, a communal or inter-communal fire brigade is disbanded by order of the High Commissioner, following the opinion of the mayor or the president of the deliberative body of the public establishment for inter-communal cooperation with competence in fire and rescue matters. This order specifies the conditions for the reorganisation of the fire brigade and the arrangements required to provide emergency services until this reorganisation.

En cas de difficultés de fonctionnement, un corps communal ou intercommunal de sapeurs-pompiers est dissous par arrêté du haut-commissaire, après avis du maire ou du président de l’organe délibérant de l’établissement public de coopération intercommunale compétent en matière d’incendie et de secours. Cet arrêté précise les conditions de réorganisation du corps et les dispositions nécessaires pour assurer les secours jusqu’à cette réorganisation.
