Article L200-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

This book lays down the rules applicable to the entry, residence and removal of:
1° European Union citizens, as defined in Article L. 200-2;
2° Foreign nationals treated as citizens of the European Union, as defined in article L. 200-3;
3° Family members of European Union citizens and foreign nationals assimilated to them, as defined in article L. 200-4;
4° Foreign nationals who have private and family ties with citizens of the European Union and foreign nationals assimilated to them, as defined in article L. 200-5.

Le présent livre détermine les règles applicables à l’entrée, au séjour et à l’éloignement :
1° Des citoyens de l’Union européenne, tels que définis à l’article L. 200-2 ;
2° Des étrangers assimilés aux citoyens de l’Union européenne, tels que définis à l’article L. 200-3 ;
3° Des membres de famille des citoyens de l’Union européenne et des étrangers qui leur sont assimilés, tels que définis à l’article L. 200-4 ;
4° Des étrangers entretenant avec les citoyens de l’Union européenne et les étrangers qui leur sont assimilés des liens privés et familiaux, tels que définis à l’article L. 200-5.
