For the attributions they exercise on behalf of the State, the mayor as well as deputy mayors and members of the town council acting by delegation from the mayor under the conditions set out in article L. 2122-18 are bound by the obligation of neutrality and respect for the principle of secularism.

Pour les attributions qu’ils exercent au nom de l’Etat, le maire ainsi que les adjoints et les membres du conseil municipal agissant par délégation du maire dans les conditions fixées à l’article L. 2122-18 sont tenus à l’obligation de neutralité et au respect du principe de laïcité.
