Article L2223-25-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

Agents who carry out their duties in direct contact with families or who personally participate in the conclusion or execution of one of the funeral services provided for by 2°, 3°, 6° and 8° of article L. 2223-19 must hold a national diploma, without prejudice to the provisions of l’article L. 2223-45.

A decree lays down the conditions under which these diplomas are awarded, the conditions under which training organisations are authorised to provide preparation for obtaining these diplomas and the conditions under which persons claiming professional experience may be awarded this diploma as part of the validation of acquired experience procedure.

Les agents qui assurent leurs fonctions en contact direct avec les familles ou qui participent personnellement à la conclusion ou à l’exécution de l’une des prestations funéraires prévues par les 2°, 3°, 6° et 8° de l’article L. 2223-19 sont titulaires d’un diplôme national, sans préjudice des dispositions de l’article L. 2223-45.

Un décret fixe les conditions dans lesquelles ces diplômes sont délivrés, les conditions dans lesquelles les organismes de formation sont habilités à assurer la préparation à l’obtention de ces diplômes ainsi que les conditions dans lesquelles les personnes se prévalant d’une expérience professionnelle peuvent se voir délivrer ce diplôme dans le cadre de la procédure de validation des acquis de l’expérience.
