In the event of the death, incapacity or retirement of the proprietor, the right of presentation passes to his successors, who may use it for the benefit of one of their number. If it is not exercised within six months of the triggering event, the right of presentation lapses. If the activity is taken over by the spouse of the original holder, the latter retains the seniority in order to exercise the right of presentation. The mayor’s decision is notified to the holder of the right of presentation and to the successor presented within two months of receipt of the application. Reasons must be given for any decision to refuse.
