Article L225-29 of the French Commercial code

The term of office of a director elected by the employees or appointed pursuant to article L. 225-27-1 is determined by the Articles of Association, without being able to exceed six years. The term of office is renewable, unless otherwise stipulated in the Articles of Association.

Any appointment made in violation of articles L. 225-27, L. 225-27-1, L. 225-28 and this article shall be null and void. This nullity does not entail the nullity of the deliberations in which the director who was improperly appointed took part.

La durée du mandat d’administrateur élu par les salariés ou désigné en application de l’article L. 225-27-1 est déterminée par les statuts, sans pouvoir excéder six ans. Le mandat est renouvelable, sauf stipulation contraire des statuts.

Toute nomination intervenue en violation des articles L. 225-27, L. 225-27-1, L. 225-28 et du présent article est nulle. Cette nullité n’entraîne pas celle des délibérations auxquelles a pris part l’administrateur irrégulièrement nommé.
