Article L2333-44 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The amount of tax paid is checked by the municipality. The mayor and agents commissioned by him may verify the declarations produced by accommodation providers, hoteliers, owners and other intermediaries responsible for collecting the tax.

To this end, he may ask any person responsible for collecting the tax to provide the relevant accounting documents.

Le montant des taxes acquittées est contrôlé par la commune. Le maire et les agents commissionnés par lui peuvent procéder à la vérification des déclarations produites par les logeurs, les hôteliers, les propriétaires et les autres intermédiaires chargés de la perception de la taxe.

A cette fin, il peut demander à toute personne responsable de la perception de la taxe la communication des pièces comptables s’y rapportant.
