Article L2411-1 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

I. – A section de commune is any part of a commune permanently and exclusively possessing property or rights distinct from those of the commune.

The section de commune is a legal person governed by public law.

The members of the section de commune are the inhabitants having their real and fixed domicile within its territory.

II. – No section de commune may be formed as from the promulgation of loi n° 2013-428 du 27 mai 2013 modernisant le régime des sections de commune.

I. – Constitue une section de commune toute partie d’une commune possédant à titre permanent et exclusif des biens ou des droits distincts de ceux de la commune.

La section de commune est une personne morale de droit public.

Sont membres de la section de commune les habitants ayant leur domicile réel et fixe sur son territoire.

II. – Aucune section de commune ne peut être constituée à compter de la promulgation de la loi n° 2013-428 du 27 mai 2013 modernisant le régime des sections de commune.
