I. – The Marseille marine fire brigade is the fire and rescue service responsible, under the direction and on the orders of the mayor, for the missions mentioned in article L. 1424-2 on the territory of the commune and in the ports of Marseille.
II. – It carries out the same duties, under the direction of the competent police authority, in the basins and facilities of the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille located outside the commune of Marseille as well as within the boundaries of the Marseille-Provence aerodrome. The terms and conditions for the financial coverage of these missions are the subject of an agreement between the parties concerned. III. – It may, at the request of administrations or public or private organisations and with the agreement of its supervisory authorities, temporarily or permanently second some of its personnel and, where applicable, its equipment to carry out prevention and protection missions for people and property incumbent on these administrations or organisations.
An agreement between its supervisory authorities and the requesting administration or organisation specifies the scope of the missions entrusted to the Marseille marine fire brigade and determines the resources allocated to it.
IV. – A resolution of the municipal council of the commune of Marseille sets the fees for the personnel and equipment made available in application of II and III.
