The Paris police prefect is responsible for fire and rescue services in the Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne departments.
In this capacity, the Paris fire brigade is the territorially competent fire and rescue service responsible for the missions mentioned in Article L. 1424-2.
The Paris fire brigade carries out the same missions on the parts of the Paris-Charles de Gaulle aerodrome rights-of-way located in the Val-d’Oise and Seine-et-Marne departments, on the parts of the Le Bourget aerodrome rights-of-way located in the Val-d’Oise department and on the parts of the Paris-Orly aerodrome rights-of-way located in the Essonne department, mentioned in article L. 122-2 of the Internal Security Code.
The Prefect of Police may delegate his powers to the representatives of the State in the Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne départements in the field of fire-fighting and rescue.
In each of the departments of Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne, risk prevention falls within the remit of the mayor and the State representative in the department acting under their respective police powers.
