I.-The provisions of Chapter III of Title I of Book II of Part Two mentioned in the left-hand column of the table below shall apply in French Polynesia, in the wording indicated in the right-hand column of the same table, subject to the adaptations provided for in II to IX.

II. – For its application to the communes of French Polynesia, Article L. 2213-1 shall read as follows:
“Art. L. 2213-1. The mayor shall exercise the traffic police on the roads located in the commune, within the framework of the regulations enacted by French Polynesia with regard to road traffic. “
III. – For the application of Article L. 2213-2, 3° is worded as follows:
3° To reserve on the public highway or in any other parking area open to the public parking spaces equipped for vehicles used by people with disabilities, as defined by the provisions in force locally, vehicles benefiting from a “car-sharing” label, vehicles benefiting from a distinctive car-pooling sign or very low emission vehicles within the meaning of Article L. 318-1 of the Highway Code.
IV. – For the application of article L. 2213-5, after the word “dangerous”, the end of the sentence is replaced by the words:
“as defined by locally applicable regulations”.
IV bis.-.For the application of Article L. 2213-6, the second sentence is deleted.
V. – For the application of article L. 2213-14, after the words: “in other communes”, the words: “or in communes with a State police force if an agreement between the State and the commune has been signed for this purpose,” are inserted.
VI. – For the application of the third paragraph of Article L. 2213-18 :
1° After the word “contraventions”, the words “aux dispositions du code de la route” are replaced by the words “aux dispositions applicables localement en matière de circulation et de sécurité routière”;
2° After the words “aux épreuves de dépistage”, the end of the sentence is replaced by the words “de l’imprégnation alcool, dans les conditions fixées par la réglementation applicable en Polynésie française”.
VII. – For the application of Article L. 2213-23, a fifth paragraph is added as follows:
However, the High Commissioner may, by a reasoned order, at the request of the mayor, exempt the latter from all or part of the regulatory, demarcation and information obligations placed upon him by the provisions of this article, where the geographical situation of the commune or the circumstances make compliance with these obligations impossible or pointless.
VIII. – For the application of article L. 2213-24, the reference to articles L. 511-1 to L. 511-4 of the Construction and Housing Code is replaced by the reference to articles L. 511-1 to L. 511-6 of this code. These articles are made applicable to the communes of French Polynesia under the conditions set out in Article L. 2573-20.
IX. – For the application of article L. 2213-28, the words: “ministerial instructions” are replaced by the words: “locally applicable regulations”.
