Vaccinations carried out by approved establishments and organisations under conditions defined by decree are free of charge.
Local authorities may carry out vaccination activities under an agreement with the State. This agreement specifies the objectives pursued, the categories of beneficiaries, the resources deployed, the amount of the subsidy granted by the State, the data that must be sent to the State, the procedures for evaluating the actions undertaken and, where applicable, the relationship with other organisations working in the same field. Vaccinations carried out under this agreement are free of charge.
The cost of vaccinations is borne by the health insurance bodies to which the insured persons or their dependants are affiliated and, in the case of beneficiaries of State medical aid, under the conditions set out in Title V of Book II of the Code de l’Action Sociale et des Familles (Social Action and Family Code) and in accordance with the procedures set out in article L. 182-1 of the Code de la Sécurité Sociale (Social Security Code).
These expenses are invoiced electronically in accordance with the conditions laid down in article L. 161-35 of the same code.
In accordance with procedures defined by decree, the Caisse nationale de l’assurance maladie may negotiate, on behalf of authorised establishments or organisations and local authorities carrying out vaccination activities, the conditions for the acquisition of vaccines intended to be administered there and which are included on the list provided for in the first paragraph of article L. 162-17 of the said code.
