The territorially competent State representative organises health checks on travellers and means of sea and air transport arriving in France from an affected area, within the meaning of Article 1 of the 2005 International Health Regulations, at the points of entry mentioned in Article L. 3115-11. These health checks are carried out in accordance with the technical procedures defined by order of the Minister for Health. In the case of ships, this check is carried out on board the ship.
Nationals of a non-EU Member State who refuse to undergo the checks are refused entry to France before being handed over to the competent authorities.
Nationals of a Member State of the European Union or of a State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area who refuse to submit to the checks are taken by the competent authorities to the competent medical service at the point of entry in order to undergo appropriate medical examinations.
In the light of the results of the examinations, if the person’s state of health requires them to be cared for in a suitable medical facility, pending their transfer to this facility, the State representative shall take the necessary measures to ensure that they remain confined to the competent medical service at the point of entry.
