Article L422-10 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A foreign national with health insurance who provides proof of either having held a temporary or multi-annual residence permit bearing the word “student” issued on the basis of articles L. 422-1, L. 422-2 or L. 422-6 and have obtained a diploma from a nationally accredited higher education establishment that is at least equivalent to a Master’s degree or that appears on a list established by decree, or have been the holder of a multi-annual residence permit bearing the wording “talent-researcher passport” issued on the basis of article L. 421-14 and have completed their research work, shall be issued with a temporary residence permit bearing the wording “seeking employment or setting up a business” for a period of one year in the following cases:
1° They intend to supplement their training with initial professional experience, without being limited to a single job or a single employer;
2° They provide evidence of a project to set up a business in a field corresponding to their training or research.

Article L422-10

L’étranger titulaire d’une assurance maladie qui justifie soit avoir été titulaire d’une carte de séjour temporaire ou pluriannuelle portant la mention ” étudiant ” délivrée sur le fondement des articles L. 422-1, L. 422-2 ou L. 422-6 et avoir obtenu dans un établissement d’enseignement supérieur habilité au plan national un diplôme au moins équivalent au grade de master ou figurant sur une liste fixée par décret, soit avoir été titulaire d’une carte de séjour pluriannuelle portant la mention ” passeport talent-chercheur ” délivrée sur le fondement de l’article L. 421-14 et avoir achevé ses travaux de recherche, se voit délivrer une carte de séjour temporaire portant la mention ” recherche d’emploi ou création d’entreprise ” d’une durée d’un an dans les cas suivants :
1° Il entend compléter sa formation par une première expérience professionnelle, sans limitation à un seul emploi ou à un seul employeur ;
2° Il justifie d’un projet de création d’entreprise dans un domaine correspondant à sa formation ou à ses recherches.
