Article L4221-1 of the French Labour Code

Workplaces and premises shall be arranged in such a way that their use guarantees the safety of workers.

They shall be kept in a constant state of cleanliness and shall be hygienic and sanitary so as to ensure the health of the persons concerned.

The decrees of the Conseil d’Etat provided for in Article L. 4111-6 shall determine the conditions of application of this Title.

Article L4221-1

Les établissements et locaux de travail sont aménagés de manière à ce que leur utilisation garantisse la sécurité des travailleurs.

Ils sont tenus dans un état constant de propreté et présentent les conditions d’hygiène et de salubrité propres à assurer la santé des intéressés.

Les décrets en Conseil d’Etat prévus à l’article L. 4111-6 déterminent les conditions d’application du présent titre.
