Article L426-5 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A foreign national who receives a pension for an accident at work or an occupational disease from a French organisation and whose permanent disability rate is equal to or greater than 20% will be issued with a temporary residence permit bearing the words “vie privée et familiale” (“private and family life”) for a period of one year. The condition set out in article L. 412-1 does not apply.

L’étranger titulaire d’une rente d’accident du travail ou de maladie professionnelle servie par un organisme français et dont le taux d’incapacité permanente est égal ou supérieur à 20 % se voit délivrer une carte de séjour temporaire portant la mention ” vie privée et familiale ” d’une durée d’un an. La condition prévue à l’article L. 412-1 n’est pas opposable.
