Persons who have obtained the evidence of formal qualifications or authorisation required to practise the profession of masseur-physiotherapist prior to their entry into the profession, and those who have obtained their evidence of formal qualifications less than three years previously, are required to register with the service or body designated for this purpose by the Minister for Health.
The registration of these persons is carried out after verification of the supporting documents attesting to their identity and their evidence of formal qualifications or authorisation. They must inform the same department or body of any change of residence or professional situation.
For people who have practised the profession of masseur-physiotherapist, the obligation to provide information about a change of residence is maintained for a period of three years from the date of cessation of their activity.
The registration procedure is free of charge.
A list of members of this profession shall be drawn up for each département by the regional health agency or the body designated for this purpose, and made available to the public.
Subject to the provisions of article L. 4061-1, a masseur-physiotherapist may only practise his profession :
1° If his diplomas, certificates, titles or authorisations have been registered in accordance with the first paragraph ;
2° If he/she is registered on the roll kept by the Order. The director general of the regional health agency and the public prosecutor’s office of the judicial court have permanent access to this register and may obtain a copy.
The national order of masseur-physiotherapists has a right of access to nominative lists of civilian masseur-physiotherapists employed by public and private organisations and may obtain a copy.
These nominative lists are used, in particular, to automatically register masseur-physiotherapists on the roll kept by the Order, under conditions laid down by decree.
The decisions referred to in articles L. 4311-16 and L. 4311-18 are taken by the departmental or interdepartmental council of the body of masseur-physiotherapists under the conditions and in accordance with the procedures specified in these articles. The provisions of articles L. 4311-26 and L. 4311-27 are applicable to masseur-physiotherapists.
The procedures for applying this article shall be laid down by decree.
