Persons who have obtained the evidence of formal qualifications or authorisation required to practise as an orthoptist must register with the department or body designated for this purpose by the Minister responsible for health before entering the profession.
Such persons shall be registered after verification of the supporting documents attesting to their identity and their evidence of formal qualifications or authorisation. They must inform the same department or body of any change in their professional situation.
The registration procedure is free of charge.
A list of this profession shall be drawn up for each département by the department or body designated for this purpose and made available to the public.
Subject to the provisions of article L. 4061-1, an orthoptist may only practise his profession if his diplomas, certificates, titles or authorisations have been registered in accordance with the first paragraph.
The provisions of Articles L. 4311-26 and L. 4311-27 shall apply to orthoptists.
Detailed rules for the application of this article shall be laid down by decree.
