Article L4344-4-2 of the French Public Health Code

Any person who practises speech and language therapy within the meaning of article L. 4341-1 is practising the profession of speech and language therapist illegally without :

1° holding a certificate of competence in speech and language therapy ;

2° Hold one of the diplomas or certificates of study in speech and language therapy issued by the Minister for Education prior to the creation of the certificate referred to in 1° of this article or any other qualification referred to in article L. 4341-4 required for the practice of the profession of speech and language therapist;

3° fulfil the conditions or obligations set out in Article L. 4341-7.

This article does not apply to students of speech and language therapy or to trainees in speech and language therapy who are undertaking a placement in application of article L. 4381-1.

Article L4344-4-2

Exerce illégalement la profession d’orthophoniste toute personne qui pratique l’orthophonie au sens de l’article L. 4341-1 sans :

1° Etre titulaire du certificat de capacité d’orthophoniste ;

2° Etre titulaire de l’un des diplômes ou de l’une des attestations d’études d’orthophonie établis par le ministre chargé de l’éducation antérieurement à la création du certificat mentionné au 1° du présent article ou de tout autre titre mentionné à l’article L. 4341-4 exigé pour l’exercice de la profession d’orthophoniste ;

3° Remplir les conditions ou satisfaire aux obligations prévues à l’article L. 4341-7.

Le présent article ne s’applique pas aux étudiants en orthophonie ni aux apprentis en orthophonie qui effectuent un stage en application de l’article L. 4381-1.
