Article L4393-6 of the French Public Health Code

When the ambulance driver is issued with an authorisation to practice or a declaration to provide services, he or she must have the language skills required to practice the profession in France.

The language proficiency test must be proportionate to the activity to be carried out and must be carried out once the professional qualification has been recognised.

L’ambulancier, lors de la délivrance de l’autorisation d’exercice ou de la déclaration de prestation de services, doit posséder les connaissances linguistiques nécessaires à l’exercice de la profession en France.

Le contrôle de la maîtrise de la langue doit être proportionné à l’activité à exercer et réalisé une fois la qualification professionnelle reconnue.
