A regional health promotion centre is set up in each overseas region, with the task of ensuring that reforms to the health and care system are geared towards the specific needs of the region.
The regional health promotion centre is made up, on the one hand, of health professionals, representatives of social security and the administration, as well as the various bodies involved in maintaining and promoting health at local level, chosen according to a procedure and arrangements laid down by the regional council and, on the other hand, at least half of its members are regional councillors.
