Article L4433-8 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The regional development plan respects:

1° The general compulsory town planning and development rules set out in Title I of Book I of the Town Planning Code, the provisions specific to the coastline set out in Chapter I of Title II of the same book, the provisions specific to aerodrome noise zones set out in Article L. 112-3 of the same code as well as the public utility easements affecting land use;

>The provisions necessary for the implementation of operations of national interest within the meaning of Article L. 102-12 of the Code de l’Urbanisme
2° The provisions necessary for the implementation of operations of national interest within the meaning of article L. 102-12 of the town planning code and projects of general interest for which the State is responsible as provided for by article L. 102-1 of the same code;

3° Legislation relating to the protection of sites and landscapes as well as the protection of listed or registered monuments;

4° The principles of rural development defined by article L. 111-2 of the Rural and Maritime Fishing Code.

Le schéma d’aménagement régional respecte :

1° Les règles générales d’aménagement et d’urbanisme à caractère obligatoire prévues au titre Ier du livre Ier du code de l’urbanisme, les dispositions particulières au littoral prévues au chapitre Ier du titre II du même livre, les dispositions particulières aux zones de bruit des aérodromes prévues à l’article L. 112-3 du même code ainsi que les servitudes d’utilité publique affectant l’utilisation des sols ;

2° Les dispositions nécessaires à la mise en œuvre d’opérations d’intérêt national au sens de l’article L. 102-12 du code de l’urbanisme et des projets d’intérêt général relevant de l’Etat prévus par l’article L. 102-1 du même code ;

3° La législation en matière de protection des sites et des paysages ainsi qu’en matière de protection des monuments classés ou inscrits ;

4° Les principes de l’aménagement rural définis par l’article L. 111-2 du code rural et de la pêche maritime.
