Article L4434-6 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The State allocates each year to each of the regions a global allocation for the environment and quality of life, which is set by the Finance Act under the conditions provided for in articles L. 1614-1 and L. 1614-3.

This allocation replaces the budgetary support allocated by the State to each of the regions for environmental protection, with the exception of that previously allocated to the départements and communes and that corresponding to the implementation of nationwide initiatives.

Article L4434-6

L’Etat attribue chaque année à chacune des régions une dotation globale pour l’environnement et la qualité de la vie qui est fixée par la loi de finances dans les conditions prévues aux articles L. 1614-1 et L. 1614-3.

Cette dotation se substitue aux concours budgétaires attribués par l’Etat à chacune des régions au titre de la protection de l’environnement, à l’exception de ceux attribués précédemment aux départements et communes et de ceux correspondant à la mise en oeuvre d’interventions à l’échelle nationale.
