Article L450-2-1 of the French Commercial code

The documents drawn up by the agents referred to in Article L. 450-1 may be drawn up or converted into digital format and may be stored in their entirety in this form, in secure conditions, without the need for a paper medium.

Where these documents are drawn up in digital format and the provisions of this Code require them to be signed, they shall be signed, irrespective of the number of pages and for each signatory, by a single signature in digital form, in accordance with technical procedures which guarantee that the document cannot subsequently be altered.

Les actes établis par les agents mentionnés à l’article L. 450-1 peuvent être établis ou convertis sous format numérique et peuvent être intégralement conservés sous cette forme, dans des conditions sécurisées, sans nécessité d’un support papier.


Lorsque ces actes sont établis sous format numérique et que les dispositions du présent code exigent qu’ils soient signés, ils font l’objet, quel qu’en soit le nombre de pages et pour chaque signataire, d’une signature unique sous forme numérique, selon des modalités techniques qui garantissent que l’acte ne peut plus ensuite être modifié.


La liste des actes concernés ainsi que les modalités de cette signature et les personnes qui peuvent y recourir sont précisées par décret en Conseil d’Etat.
