Article L5124-10 of the French Public Health Code

Notwithstanding the provisions of Article L. 4211-1 and those of the first paragraph of Article L. 5124-2, Institut Pasteur remains authorised to ensure, in accordance with its statutes, the preparation and distribution of attenuated or non-attenuated viruses, therapeutic sera, modified or non-modified toxins, and in general the various products of non-chemically defined microbial origin which may be used, in any form, for diagnosis, prophylaxis or therapy, as well as allergens.

Par dérogation aux dispositions de l’article L. 4211-1 et à celles du premier alinéa de l’article L. 5124-2, l’institut Pasteur demeure habilité à assurer, conformément à ses statuts, la préparation et la distribution des virus atténués ou non, sérums thérapeutiques, toxines modifiées ou non, et en général des divers produits d’origine microbienne non chimiquement définis pouvant servir, sous une forme quelconque, au diagnostic, à la prophylaxie ou à la thérapeutique, ainsi que les allergènes.
