Article L5134-23-1 of the French Labour Code

An exception may be made to the maximum duration for which aid for professional integration is granted, in accordance with the terms and conditions laid down by regulation, either when the aid concerns an employee aged 50 or over who is experiencing particular difficulties which prevent him or her from being permanently integrated into employment, or a person recognised as a disabled worker, or to enable the completion of a professional training course in progress and provided for under the aid granted. The duration of this extension may not exceed the duration of the action concerned.

Il peut être dérogé, selon des modalités fixées par voie réglementaire, à la durée maximale pour laquelle est attribuée une aide à l’insertion professionnelle, soit lorsque celle-ci concerne un salarié âgé de cinquante ans et plus rencontrant des difficultés particulières qui font obstacle à son insertion durable dans l’emploi ou une personne reconnue travailleur handicapé, soit pour permettre d’achever une action de formation professionnelle en cours de réalisation et prévue au titre de l’aide attribuée. La durée de cette prolongation ne peut excéder le terme de l’action concernée.
