Any veterinary medicinal product which does not have the marketing authorisation referred to in Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 2019/6 of 11 December 2018, the registration referred to in Article 86 of the same Regulation or the registration referred to in Article L. 5141-5-1, the temporary authorisation for use referred to in Article L. 5141-10 of this Code or the parallel trade authorisation referred to in Article L. 5142-7-1 is subject, prior to its importation into the national customs territory, to an import authorisation issued by the Director General of the Agence nationale chargée de la sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail.
The provisions of the first paragraph do not apply to:
1° Veterinary medicinal products imported by veterinarians providing services in another Member State as referred to in Article 111 of Regulation (EU) 2019/6 of 11 December 2018;
2° Veterinary medicinal products imported by foreign military veterinarians for the needs of the animals of foreign nationals whom they are accompanying under the provisions of Article L. 241-3-2 of the Code rural et de la pêche maritime;
3° Veterinary medicinal products imported exclusively for animals whose flesh or products are not intended for human consumption, under conditions laid down by decree in the Conseil d’Etat following an opinion from the Director General of the Agence nationale chargée de la sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail.
