Recognised producer groups, professional agricultural groups whose activities contribute to the organisation of animal production and which can demonstrate sufficient technical and sanitary supervision and genuine economic activity on the one hand, and health protection groups on the other, may, if they are approved for this purpose by the administrative authority, purchase from establishments holding a wholesale distribution authorisation, hold and supply to their members, for the exclusive exercise of their activity, the veterinary medicinal products necessary for the implementation of the animal health programmes referred to in article L. 5143-7, with the exception of those requiring the presentation of a veterinary prescription.
However, these groups may also purchase in bulk and hold those veterinary medicinal products subject to the presentation of a veterinary prescription containing substances which appear on a list drawn up jointly by the Ministers for Agriculture and Health and on a proposal from the National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety and which are necessary for the implementation of the animal health programmes referred to in article L. 5143-7. This list may not include antimicrobial substances. These products are supplied to members of the group’s animal health programme on presentation of a prescription from the group’s veterinarian, which takes the form of a detailed prescription, adapting the approved animal health programme to the specific characteristics of each farm.
They may also purchase from establishments approved to manufacture or distribute medicated feed and hold medicated feed manufactured from veterinary medicinal products containing substances on the same list.
