Article L5143-7 of the French Public Health Code

The groups referred to in article L. 5143-6 must be approved by the administrative authority, on the recommendation of committees comprising an equal number of representatives of the administration, representatives of professional agricultural organisations and representatives of veterinary surgeons and pharmacists. The composition of these committees is set by decree.

Approval is subject to an undertaking to implement a health programme for the farm approved by the administrative authority, after consultation with the committees referred to in the previous paragraph, the implementation of which is placed under the effective supervision and responsibility of a veterinarian who personally visits the farm on a regular basis.

Approval is granted for a period of five years. It is then renewable for five-year periods.

After formal notice, this approval is suspended or withdrawn by the administrative authority if the conditions for which it was granted are no longer met.

Les groupements visés à l’article L. 5143-6 doivent être agréés par l’autorité administrative, sur proposition de commissions comprenant en nombre égal des représentants de l’administration, des représentants des organisations professionnelles agricoles et des représentants des vétérinaires et pharmaciens. La composition de ces commissions est fixée par décret.

L’agrément est subordonné à l’engagement de mettre en oeuvre un programme sanitaire d’élevage approuvé par l’autorité administrative, après avis des commissions prévues au précédent alinéa et dont l’exécution est placée sous la surveillance et la responsabilité effectives d’un vétérinaire visitant personnellement et régulièrement l’élevage.

L’agrément est délivré pour une durée de cinq ans. Il est ensuite renouvelable par période quinquennale.

Après mise en demeure, cet agrément est suspendu ou retiré par l’autorité administrative si les conditions ayant motivé son octroi ne sont plus satisfaites.
