Article L521-13 of the French Intellectual Property Code

In the event of repeated offences against the rights guaranteed by this book, or if the offender is or has been bound by agreement with the injured party, the penalties incurred shall be doubled.

The offenders may, in addition, be deprived for a period not exceeding five years of the right to be elected and to stand for election to the commercial courts, the territorial chambers of commerce and industry and the chambers of trades, as well as to the industrial tribunals.

En cas de récidive des infractions aux droits garantis par le présent livre, ou si le délinquant est ou a été lié par convention avec la partie lésée, les peines encourues sont portées au double.

Les coupables peuvent, en outre, être privés pendant un temps qui n’excédera pas cinq ans du droit d’élection et d’éligibilité pour les tribunaux de commerce, les chambres de commerce et d’industrie territoriales et les chambres de métiers, ainsi que pour les conseils de prud’hommes.
