Article L521-7 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

Notwithstanding the provisions of Article L. 612-1, the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés shall ensure compliance with the provisions of Articles L. 521-5 and L. 521-6 by using the powers conferred upon it by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 on Data Processing, Data Files and Individual Liberties. To this end, it may in particular receive, by any means, complaints relating to infringements of the provisions of articles L. 521-5 and L. 521-6.

Par dérogation aux dispositions de l’article L. 612-1, la Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés veille au respect des dispositions des articles L. 521-5 et L. 521-6 en utilisant les compétences qui lui sont reconnues par le règlement (UE) 2016/679 du Parlement européen et du Conseil et la loi n° 78-17 du 6 janvier 1978 relative à l’informatique, aux fichiers et aux libertés. A cette fin, elle peut notamment recevoir, par tous moyens, les plaintes relatives aux infractions aux dispositions des articles L. 521-5 et L. 521-6.
