In this subsection and for the application of the provisions relating to freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services :
1° “Competent authorities” means the authority or authorities of another Member State of the European Union or party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area responsible, in accordance with the law of that State, for authorising or supervising electronic money institutions which have their head office or central administration in that State;
2° “Home State” means, for an electronic money institution, the Member State of the European Union or the State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area where it has its registered office or, if, in accordance with its national law, it has no registered office, where its central administration is located;
3° “Host State” means the Member State of the European Union or party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, other than the home State, in which the electronic money institution carries on business under the freedom of establishment or the freedom to provide services;
4° “Branch” means one or more unincorporated parts of an electronic money institution whose purpose is to issue and manage electronic money. All the places of business established by an electronic money institution in the same host State shall be regarded as a single branch.
