Article L531-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons, whose missions, status and organisation are defined in particular in Articles L. 121-7 to L. 121-16, decides on asylum applications referred to it. However, it does not have jurisdiction to hear an application the examination of which falls within the jurisdiction of another State pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 604/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 June 2013, or pursuant to commitments identical to those provided for by the same Regulation with other States.

L’Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides, dont les missions, le statut et l’organisation sont définis notamment aux articles L. 121-7 à L. 121-16, statue sur les demandes d’asile dont il est saisi. Il n’est toutefois pas compétent pour connaître d’une demande dont l’examen relève de la compétence d’un autre Etat en application du règlement (UE) n° 604/2013 du Parlement européen et du Conseil, du 26 juin 2013, ou en application d’engagements identiques à ceux prévus par le même règlement avec d’autres Etats.
