Article L531-2 of the French Code of civil enforcement procedures

Assets subject to a court-ordered security interest may still be disposed of. The price is paid and distributed in accordance with the conditions laid down by decree of the Conseil d’Etat.
However, in the event of the sale of securities registered in an account held and managed by an authorised intermediary, the price may be used to acquire other securities which are then subrogated to the securities sold.

Les biens grevés d’une sûreté judiciaire demeurent aliénables. Le prix en est payé et distribué dans les conditions fixées par décret en Conseil d’Etat.
Toutefois, en cas de vente de valeurs mobilières inscrites sur un compte tenu et géré par un intermédiaire habilité, le prix peut être utilisé pour acquérir d’autres valeurs qui sont alors subrogées aux valeurs vendues.
