Article L5816-2 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

If several communes have undivided ownership of property or rights, it may, at the request of one of the communes, be set up by order of the State representative in the département a syndicate commission made up of delegates from the communes concerned for the administration of this undivided property. This decree sets the number of members.

Si plusieurs communes possèdent indivisément des biens ou des droits, il peut, à la requête d’une des communes, être institué par arrêté du représentant de l’Etat dans le département une commission syndicale composée de délégués des communes intéressées pour l’administration de ce patrimoine indivis. Cet arrêté en fixe le nombre.
