Article L612-19 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Any application for a patent or any patent shall give rise to the payment of annual fees which must be paid no later than the date fixed by decree in the Council of State.

Where payment of an annual fee has not been made by the date specified in the preceding paragraph, the said fee may be validly paid within a six-month period of grace subject to payment of a supplement within the same period.

Toute demande de brevet ou tout brevet donne lieu au paiement de redevances annuelles qui doivent être acquittées au plus tard au jour fixé par décret pris en Conseil d’Etat.

Lorsque le paiement d’une redevance annuelle n’a pas été effectué à la date prévue à l’alinéa précédent, ladite redevance peut être valablement versée dans un délai de grâce de six mois moyennant le paiement d’un supplément dans le même délai.
