Article L614-13 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The decision to place the person in detention may only be challenged before the liberty and custody judge, in accordance with the provisions of article L. 741-10.
In this case, the liberty and custody judge shall immediately inform the territorially competent administrative court, by any means, of the meaning of his decision. Failure to comply with the provisions of this paragraph shall have no effect on the legality and validity of subsequent procedures for enforcing the expulsion decision.

Article L614-13

La décision de placement en rétention ne peut être contestée que devant le juge des libertés et de la détention, conformément aux dispositions de l’article L. 741-10.
Dans ce cas, le juge des libertés et de la détention informe sans délai le tribunal administratif territorialement compétent, par tout moyen, du sens de sa décision. La méconnaissance des dispositions du présent alinéa est sans conséquence sur la régularité et le bien-fondé des procédures ultérieures d’exécution de la décision d’éloignement.
