Each centre is administered by a Board of Directors comprising :
1° The representative of the State in one of the departments in the region where the centre is based, appointed by the representative of the State in the region;
2° The director of the medical training and research unit with which the centre has signed the agreement provided for in article L. 6142-5 or, where there is more than one training and research unit, the chairman of the medical education coordination committee;
3° The general manager of the university hospital centre with which the centre has signed the agreement provided for in article L. 6142-5 or, if the centre has contracts with several university hospital centres, the general manager of one of them, appointed by the general manager of the regional health agency;
4° A leading scientist appointed by the National Cancer Institute;
5° A representative of the regional economic, social and environmental council appointed by this assembly;
6° Qualified personalities, representatives of the centre’s staff and user representatives, under conditions defined by regulation.
The Board of Directors is chaired by the State representative appointed under 1°.
The Chief Executive of the centre, accompanied by staff of his choice, and the Chief Executive of the Regional Health Agency or his representative attend the Board in an advisory capacity.
