Article L6222-18-2 of the French Labour Code

If the apprenticeship contract is terminated in application of article L. 6222-18, the training centre in which the apprentice is registered takes the necessary steps to enable him to follow his theoretical training for six months and helps to find him a new employer likely to enable him to complete his training course.

During this period, the apprentice has the status of vocational training trainee.

En cas de rupture du contrat d’apprentissage en application de l’article L. 6222-18, le centre de formation dans lequel est inscrit l’apprenti prend les dispositions nécessaires pour lui permettre de suivre sa formation théorique pendant six mois et contribue à lui trouver un nouvel employeur susceptible de lui permettre d’achever son cycle de formation.

L’apprenti bénéficie pendant cette période du statut de stagiaire de la formation professionnelle.
