Article L6222-22-1 of the French Labour Code

An apprentice preparing for a vocational baccalaureate may, at his own request or that of his employer, at the end of the first year of the contract, continue his training with a view to obtaining a vocational aptitude certificate, an agricultural vocational aptitude certificate or an agricultural vocational certificate.

If the speciality of the vocational aptitude certificate, agricultural vocational aptitude certificate or agricultural vocational certificate belongs to the same vocational field as that of the vocational baccalaureate initially targeted, the duration of the apprenticeship contract or period is reduced by one year.

An amendment to the apprenticeship contract specifying the diploma being prepared for and the duration of the corresponding apprenticeship contract or period is signed by the apprentice, or his/her legal representative, and the employer.

It is filed under the conditions laid down in Chapter IV of this Title.

Un apprenti engagé dans la préparation d’un baccalauréat professionnel peut, à sa demande ou à celle de son employeur, au terme de la première année du contrat, poursuivre sa formation en vue d’obtenir un certificat d’aptitude professionnelle, un certificat d’aptitude professionnelle agricole ou un brevet professionnel agricole.

Lorsque la spécialité du certificat d’aptitude professionnelle, du certificat d’aptitude professionnelle agricole ou du brevet professionnel agricole appartient au même domaine professionnel que celle du baccalauréat professionnel initialement visée, la durée du contrat ou de la période d’apprentissage est réduite d’une année.

Un avenant au contrat d’apprentissage précisant le diplôme préparé et la durée du contrat ou de la période d’apprentissage correspondante est signé entre l’apprenti, ou son représentant légal, et l’employeur.

Il est déposé dans les conditions fixées au chapitre IV du présent titre.
