Any transport of a sick, injured or parturient person, for reasons of care or diagnosis, on medical prescription or in a medical emergency, using land, air or sea transport specially adapted for this purpose, constitutes medical transport.
The transport of deceased persons, with a view to taking samples for therapeutic purposes, using land, air or sea transport specially adapted for this purpose, is considered to be medical transport from the place where the deceased person is taken into care to the health establishment authorised to take these samples.
The medical transport of children who have died of a medically unexplained cause, with a view to taking samples for diagnostic and scientific purposes, as well as the transport of their legal representatives with a view to appropriate care, carried out using land, air or sea transport specially adapted for this purpose, is considered to be medical transport from the place where the deceased child is taken into care to the health establishment called upon to carry out the samples.
Transport of defence personnel using the armed forces’ own resources does not constitute medical transport.
