Article L712-12 of the French Intellectual Property Code

The right of priority provided for in Article 4 of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property is extended to any trademark previously filed in a foreign country.

Subject to the provisions of international conventions to which France is a party, the right of priority is subject to recognition by the said country of the same right when French trademarks are filed.

Le droit de priorité prévu à l’article 4 de la convention de Paris pour la protection de la propriété industrielle est étendu à toute marque préalablement déposée dans un pays étranger.

Sous réserve des dispositions des conventions internationales auxquelles la France est partie, le droit de priorité est subordonné à la reconnaissance par ledit pays du même droit lors du dépôt des marques françaises.
