Article L813-6 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The detained foreign national’s lawyer may, upon arrival at the place of detention, communicate with the foreign national for thirty minutes, under conditions that guarantee the confidentiality of the interview.
The foreign national may request that the lawyer attend his or her hearings. In this case, the first hearing, unless it only concerns identity details, may not begin without the presence of the lawyer before the expiry of a period of one hour following the information sent to the lawyer. However, verification operations not requiring the presence of the foreign national may be carried out from the start of the detention. At the end of the detention, the lawyer may, at his or her request, consult the report drawn up pursuant to the first paragraph of article L. 813-13 as well as the medical certificate, if any, appended thereto. The lawyer may make written observations, which are attached to the report.

At the end of the detention, the lawyer may consult the report drawn up pursuant to the first paragraph of article L.

Article L813-6
