Article L822-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Without prejudice to any legal proceedings that may be brought against it and the special contribution provided for in article L. 8253-1 of the Labour Code, an employer who has employed an illegally staying foreign worker shall pay a lump-sum contribution representing the costs of removing this foreigner from French territory.

Sans préjudice des poursuites judiciaires qui peuvent être engagées à son encontre et de la contribution spéciale prévue à l’article L. 8253-1 du code du travail, l’employeur qui a occupé un travailleur étranger en situation de séjour irrégulier acquitte une contribution forfaitaire représentative des frais d’éloignement du territoire français de cet étranger.
