Article LO6462-15 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The President of the Territorial Council or his/her representative participates, at his/her request, as part of the French delegation, in negotiations with the European Union and the European Community concerning Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon’s relations with the latter.

The President of the Territorial Council may ask the State to take the initiative in negotiations with the European Union and the European Community with a view to obtaining specific measures useful to the development of the collectivity.

Le président du conseil territorial ou son représentant participe, à sa demande, au sein de la délégation française, aux négociations avec l’Union européenne et la Communauté européenne relatives aux relations de Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon avec ces dernières.

Le président du conseil territorial peut demander à l’Etat de prendre l’initiative de négociations avec l’Union européenne et la Communauté européenne en vue d’obtenir des mesures spécifiques utiles au développement de la collectivité.
