Article R1112-48 of the French Public Health Code

Visitors and patients must not bring alcoholic beverages or medicines into the establishment, except with the doctor’s consent in the case of medicines.

In the interests of the patient, the nursing staff on duty will object to any food or drink, even non-alcoholic, that is not compatible with the prescribed diet.

Any food or drink smuggled in will be returned to the visitors or, failing that, destroyed.

Pets, with the exception of guide dogs, may not be brought into the hospital.

Les visiteurs et les malades ne doivent introduire dans l’établissement ni boissons alcoolisées ni médicaments, sauf accord du médecin en ce qui concerne les médicaments.

Le cadre infirmier du service s’oppose, dans l’intérêt du malade, à la remise à celui-ci de denrées ou boissons même non alcoolisées qui ne sont pas compatibles avec le régime alimentaire prescrit.

Les denrées et boissons introduites en fraude sont restituées aux visiteurs ou à défaut détruites.

Les animaux domestiques, à l’exception des chiens-guides d’aveugles, ne peuvent être introduits dans l’enceinte de l’hôpital.
