Article R1112-8 of the French Public Health Code

When a private health establishment which is not authorised to provide the public hospital service ceases its activities, information concerning the health of patients may, subject to the necessary sorting, be donated to a public archive service by means of a contract between the director of the establishment and the competent administrative authority.

Lorsqu’un établissement de santé privé qui n’est pas habilité à assurer le service public hospitalier cesse ses activités, les informations concernant la santé des patients peuvent, sous réserve des tris nécessaires, faire l’objet d’un don à un service public d’archives par voie contractuelle entre le directeur de l’établissement et l’autorité administrative compétente.
