The Committee meets when convened by its Chairman, who sets the agenda.
The Chairman appoints one or more rapporteurs from among the members of the Committee.
The Committee may only deliberate if at least half of its members are present. If this is not the case, a further meeting may be held after a period of fifteen days without a quorum being required.
Decisions are taken by a majority of the members present. In the event of a tie, the Chairman has the casting vote.
The committee draws up its own rules of procedure, which specify the procedures for hearing representatives of associations when it deems it necessary, in connection with an application for approval. It draws up an annual activity report, which is sent to the Minister for Health and made public. The Commission’s secretariat is provided by the Directorate General for Health, which in particular examines applications for approval.
