Article R1142-42 of the French Public Health Code

The Chairman of the Board of Directors is appointed for a period of three years, renewable once, by decree issued on the proposal of the Minister for Health.

The age limit for the Chairman is sixty-seven.

The Chairman has a deputy, appointed under the same conditions from among the members of the Board of Directors.

Should the Chairman or his alternate be permanently unable to carry out his duties, a replacement shall be appointed under the same conditions for the remainder of the term of office.

Le président du conseil d’administration est nommé pour une durée de trois ans, renouvelable une fois, par décret pris sur proposition du ministre chargé de la santé.

La limite d’âge du président est fixée à soixante-sept ans.

Il a un suppléant, nommé dans les mêmes conditions parmi les membres du conseil d’administration.

En cas d’empêchement définitif du président ou de son suppléant, un remplaçant est nommé dans les mêmes conditions pour la durée du mandat restant à accomplir.
