If, on the date mentioned in the first paragraph of Article R. 1213-7, a single list of candidates is submitted for one of the ballots mentioned in articles R. 1213-2 to R. 1213-5, the central census commission verifies that the list complies with the applicable provisions and decides whether or not to organise the ballot pursuant to the provisions of Article R. 1213-7-1.
If a ballot is held, the committee verifies that it is in order. It takes a general count of the votes, settles any questions that may arise from the counting of the ballot papers, apart from any complaints, makes any necessary corrections and announces the results. In the event of a tie, the list with the highest average age of titular candidates is elected.
The results are published in the Official Journal by the minister responsible for local authorities.
